About St. Mary's:

People have met for worship at a church in Great Chart since the mid 7th Century. This long tradition continues in the picturesque setting of current St. Mary’s Church.

Our congregation is drawn from a wide area. They join with a four-part choir and a large team of bell-ringers to meet and give praise and thanks to God through traditional services.

The church at Singleton Village Hall began in 1993, to respond to the spiritual needs of the growing village community.

Services in the village hall, on Hoxton Close, are more informal and contemporary, with groups for children and young people up to the age of fifteen.

The ministry at St. Mary's is made up of:

Rector: Revd. Timothy Wilson
A: The Rectory, Great Chart, Kent, TN23 3AY

T: 01233 620371

E: timothy.wilson@stmarysgreatchart.org

Tim joined the Great Chart and Singleton parish in Summer 2003, following a period of nine years establishing the new parish of St. Philips in Margate. He was, therefore, the very first vicar of that parish!

Before that he was curate to a church near Bridgnorth in Shropshire, which he joined on completion of his theological training at Oak Hall College, North London.

Prior to entering full-time ministry, Tim completed a number of years of work in the building industry. During this tim e, he was also actively involved in children and young peoples work at local churches.

Music is a key aspect of Tim's character - his father's role as a church organist providing a foundation for a lifetimes involvement in church music of all types. He remains actively involved in the choir at St. Mary's.

Tim is married to Catherine, and they have three sons and a daughter.
